Challenge
Upper House by Aria Property, designed by internationally acclaimed Koichi Takada Architects, is a sculptural icon inspired by Queensland’s Moreton Bay fig. Its striking design—featuring dancing balconies, architectural ribbons, and Australia’s first double-storey rooftop club—demanded a signage strategy that seamlessly aligned with the building’s design ethos. The challenge was to create a wayfinding system that complemented the refined, quiet Japanese aesthetic while maintaining functionality across all 33 levels.
Solution
A meticulously crafted signage and wayfinding strategy was developed to enhance the architectural intent and ensure a seamless user experience. The design embraced a restrained material and colour palette, reinforcing the sophisticated and authentic feel of the space. Every element was carefully integrated to establish harmony between signage and the built form, guiding residents and visitors with an understated elegance that mirrors the building’s sculptural beauty.
